Registration
process
Maximum
class size is 50. Also, many class sizes will
be limited by instructors. Unfortunately, some of these
classes are the most sought after. Consequently, registration
procedures will include the following system.
-
You may register for as many classes as you like.
-
You will be given an opportunity to identify your
three course selection priorities (Priorities 1,
2, and 3). Separate forms are provided to identify
priorities.
-
All registrations received by 2:00 p.m. on January
10 will be processed at the same time,
in random order.
-
First, the forms will be processed to assign as
many of the priority class selections as possible.
-
Then
registrants will be assigned to classes to which
they did not assign a priority. This will be done
to the extent seats are still available, as indeed
they will be for most classes.
-
No course assignments will be made before January
10.
-
Members will be notified by January 23
of their class assignments.
- Late
registration—Registrations received
after January 10 will be processed
on a space-available basis. Registrations will continue
to be accepted after the semester begins.
-
Waiting
list—Members who were not enrolled
in a class during the fall semester because of over-subscription
will be given preference this semester if the identical
class is offered again. However, you must register
for the class by 2:00 p.m. on January 10
and indicate your priority on the Priority
Selection Form.
You
may register by mailing the Membership Application and
Registration form from the printed catalog (and
available online) to the address shown at the top
of the form. Additional membership forms are available
by calling 302/645-4111. Telephone registration will
not be accepted.
Registrations for the Spring 2008 semester
may also be done in-person at the Academy office, in
the Lewes School, 820A Savannah Road, Lewes, Tuesday
through Thursday, beginning January 2 between
10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Fees
The
Academy's membership fee, which entitles you to take
as many courses as you like, is $120 for the
spring semester. Scholarship assistance is
available. The Academy's income depends almost entirely
on registration fees, which are applied against operating
expenses, including rent for the Lewes School, and the
cost of printing and postage. The Academy is expected
to generate sufficient membership revenue to cover operating
costs.

Tuition assistance
Further
information on scholarships is available from the Academy
office. A Scholarship
Fund Application form is included at the back of
the printed catalog and is available online. The application
form must be completed and mailed to the Academy no
later than January 3, 2008.
The George Kirilla, Jr. Scholarship Fund has been established
at the Academy by the Kirilla family to underwrite this
assistance. Academy members are encouraged to make contributions
to this fund. You can declare your contribution on the
Membership Application
and Registration form.
