CS28 DIGITAL DARKROOM
Mondays, 10:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
Dates: 10 sessions, September 8 - November 17
Instructor: Don Stein
See how a personal computer with a scanner,picture-processing
software, and a color printer can replace a darkroom,
enlarger, and messy chemicals! Students will be encouraged
to bring their own pictures and create their own prints
in class, using such techniques as cropping, exposure,
and color correction, perspective modification, filters,
and special effects. The classes will progress each
week so plan to attend every session. Lab fee of $5.
Class limited to 10 students.
CS33 INTRODUCTION TO POWERPOINT
Tuesdays, 1:30 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Dates: 10 sessions, September 9 - November 18
Instructor: Rosemary Cummings
Using MS PowerPoint, create dynamic
professional presentations using different presentation
themes. Design custom templates, insert graphics, customize
clip art and scanned images, and learn to use animation
effects. Learn how to imbed MS Excel data and MS Word
document. Course is designed to be useful for presenters
and instructors. Prerequisites: Knowledge of PC and
basic software applications. Class limited to 12 students.

Many resources of the Delaware libraries
are available to you at home 24/7. You can browse the
shelves of the 28 Sussex and Kent County Libraries,
Delaware Technical and Community College Libraries,
Wesley College Library, and the Delaware Public Archives.
Find full text magazine articles, newspapers, and encyclopedias
online. E-books and downloadable audio books are new
materials now available. Place holds and/or renew your
books from home. Class will consist of two 90-minute
sessions. The first session will be a small group hands-on
class and a follow-up assignment will be given at the
conclusion of the session. A second session on November
12 for all class participants will review the assignment,
and answer questions. Basic computer skills required.

CS52 A MICROSOFT WORD APPLICATION
- TABLES
Wednesdays, 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Dates: 5 sessions, September 10 - October 8
Instructor: Barbee Kiker
Learn how to use Microsoft Word Tables.
A table uses columns and rows to present or organize
information. Tables help you get things lined up. They
allow you to present text and pictures side-by-side.
You can use tables to create a comparison chart. You
could even use the table feature to create a Sudoku
puzzle template large enough to see the numbers. This
is a hands-on class. Class limited to 12 students.
CS53 ADDING PHOTOS TO WORD DOCUMENTS
& POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS
Wednesdays, 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Dates: 5 sessions, October 15 - November 12
Instructor: Barbee Kiker
Share your great digital photos by including
them in Word letters and memos or PowerPoint slides.
If necessary, we'll review getting digital photos from
the camera into Word and PowerPoint. Mainly, we'll play
with interesting layouts and formats. The emphasis will
not be on enhancing photos as in the Digital Darkroom
class, rather on utilizing and sharing your pictures.
This is a hands-on class. Prerequisite: Familiarity
with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and comfort with
the basics.

CS54 COMPUTER MAINTENANCE
Mondays, 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Dates: 4 sessions, September 8 - September 29
Instructor: Paul W. Ross
Learn how to keep your computer running
well. Sessions will cover hardware and software, maintenance
and repair, upgrading, networking, backup, etc. Class
limited to 12 students.
