AA02 BEGINNING WATERCOLOR

Wednesdays, 1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Dates: 5 sessions, September 10 - October 8
Instructor: Betty DeBoer assisted by Ruth Valva

This course is designed to encourage students to develop their own style of painting using basic fundamentals of watercolor. It will include information on materials and equipment, mixing of colors, and demonstrations of various watercolor techniques. An accomplished artist, Ruth Valva, will assist the instructor in this class. The instructor will provide a list of materials. Supplies can be ordered from Cheap Joe's art supply catalogue,

AA10 BEGINNING BASKETRY

Tuesdays, 1:30 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Dates: 5 sessions, October 14 - November 18
Instructor: Elaine Stanhope

This class is open to all who are interested in basket weaving. Anyone who has never woven a basket or those who have woven up to five baskets are welcome. Basket kits will be provided. There will be a charge for supplies needed to weave two baskets. Class limited to 12 students.

AA14 STAINED GLASS

Thursdays, 1:30 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Dates: 10 sessions, September 11 - November 13
Instructors: Anita Stockton and Lela Weston

New and experienced students are encouraged to join this class. The skills of choosing patterns and glass, cutting, grinding, foiling, and soldering will be learned and practiced. Materials and tools will be supplied for beginning projects. Experienced students will be given guidance on ongoing projects. A $20 materials fee will be collected during the first class to cover the cost of a small amount of glass, foil, solder, tools, grinder heads, and chemicals. Students must purchase their own glass for larger and more advanced projects. Class limited to 12 students.

AA32 BEGINNING KNITTING

Tuesdays, 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Dates: 5 sessions, September 9 - October 7
Instructor: Margaret Martin

Start from scratch, or renew your basic knitting skills. We will knit, purl, increase, decrease, cast on stitches, and bind off. Bring needles and yarn so you can practice what is taught in class. Also plan to start a simple project of your choice such as a hat, purse, or scarf. Class limited to 15 students.

AA36 THROW AND BUILD IN CLAY

Mondays, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Dates: 10 sessions, September 8 - November 10
Instructors: Carmela Coleman and Wes Stack
Held at the Rehoboth Art League

Students will have the opportunity to learn to throw clay on the pottery wheel and learn hand-building skills to develop unique ceramic pieces with both techniques. Instruction will include demonstrations and guided practice in the development of students' initial projects. Wear old clothes, apron, and bring your lunch. Additional cost of $60 (payable to RAL) for 25 pounds of clay and all glazing materials and firing costs. Class limited to 12 students.

AA42 EXPLORING TECHNIQUES IN WATERCOLOR

Thursdays, 1:30 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Dates: 5 sessions, October 16 - November 13
Instructor: Sonia J. Hunt

The course will cover various techniques in watercolor. Color mixing, composition, and different applications of paint will be explored. Different ways of applying watercolor paints and surfaces will be used. Large round and flat brushes, and at least six basic colors are essential. Some previous experience with watercolor painting is helpful. Class limited to 15 students.

AA43 KNITTING UNMENTIONABLES!

Tuesdays, 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Dates: 5 sessions, October 14 - November 11

Repair mistakes, unknit, weave in ends, read patterns, put projects together, use bobbins, MAKE SWATCHES! Learn to make different edgings, or just knit with friends. Class limited to 20 students.

AA52 POTTERY- PLAYING IN MUD!

Fridays, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Dates: 10 sessions, September 12 - November 14
Instructor: Pam Blessinger
Held at Rehoboth Art League

Open to all levels. The lessons will be individually tailored to each student's needs. Potters should come to have fun and bring their questions. Wear old clothes and bring a lunch. AA53 INTERMEDIATE BASKETRY

Produce interest and drama in landscapes. Explore the values of perspective and contrast to familiar scenes. Class limited to 14 students.

AA64 OIL PAINTING WORKSHOP

Oil painting workshop for intermediate painters. Come join us for a cooperative workshop where we help and critique each other. Class will start at 9:30 a.m. and continue to 4:45 p.m. For those with less time, the afternoon session is 1:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Students should bring their own supplies. Class limited to 20 students.

NEW! AA71 3-DIMENSIONAL PERSPECTIVE IN PAINTING AND DRAWING

Mondays, 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Dates: 10 sessions, September 8 - November 17
Instructor: Bruce M. Collins

Help for those buildings, barns, and backgrounds in your paintings that just don't look right. Techniques for portraying three-dimensional spatial relationships on a two-dimensional workspace, the theory of one-, two-, and three-point linear perspective, applications for zero-point perspective, understanding and achieving atmospheric perspective, depicting shadows that make sense, and capturing perspectively correct reflections. Bring sketch pad, straightedge (15"), and masking tape. Class limited to 20 students.
