Membership fee
The
Academy of Lifelong Learning membership fee covers up
to five classes each semester and most events. Expenses
for trips, luncheons, books, and supplies are additional.
Annual membership may be purchased only at
the beginning of the fall term. Please make checks payable
to the University of Delaware.
Instructors,
as well as other volunteers, must be Academy members.
Instructors receive a $20 discount for each semester
in which they are currently teaching. Instructors need
not register for the courses they teach and may register
for up to five other courses.
Refund policy
Refund
requests for the Fall 2009 semester
must be made in writing before October 2, 2009.
Academy parking permits [hangtags] must be returned
along with the written refund request. Full refunds
will be granted prior to the beginning of classes for
those who find they cannot attend, including those who
wish to withdraw because the Academy courses they have
chosen have no openings. No Academy membership fee will
be refunded because a request to audit a University
course cannot be honored.
Refund
requests may be submitted after the start of classes
on September 8, 2009 for withdrawals
caused by illness, pressing family situations, or other
circumstances beyond a member’s control. Refund
requests received after the start of classes will be
prorated based on the date that the written request
and parking hangtag are received in the Academy Office.
Refund requests will be processed starting October
2, 2009. Membership fees may not be transferred
to another semester.
Scholarships
Need-based
partial scholarships are available. Application is confidential.
Forms are available from Betty Gail Timm in the Academy
Office. Completed applications should be submitted,
along with your registration form, directly to the University
Coordinator, Basil Maas, by August 7, 2009.
